Listening For The Shepherd’s Voice

Scripture:

To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. John 10:3-4, NKJV

Introduction:

Relentlessly whispering lies in our ears is a common strategy used by the enemy of our souls. This voice communicates things like, You are not doing enough. You are not praying enough, reading the Bible enough, or serving enough. You’re falling short and when God looks at you, He is disappointed.

The truth is, our Lord is a good Shepherd and He knows each of us by name. And when He speaks, He whispers a different message: You are my son/daughter, and I love you. I know you by name! I will go before you and lead you out into green pastures and beside still waters. When dark valleys come, I’ll be there with you. Listen for my voice and follow me.
