Dear Christian Educators members and friends,
Some of you may have reached the end of this school year. For others, the end may be just around the corner. Whichever applies to you, please know that Christian Educators is continually praying for you.
This past month, I was advising one of our members who felt completely worn out from the toll that teaching had taken on her soul. When I asked her why she was feeling so down and dissatisfied, she answered, “I am tired of fighting the battle and standing up for what is right while others just sit back and say or do nothing.”
Friends, I must tell you, this is a common feelings among today’s educators. We’re tired, dissatisfied, and continually questioning our callings. I responded to this member by reminding her what the Lord said to His disciples in John 15:19, “If you belong to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world. but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
I was able to spend some time in prayer with this member. Through our time together, I believe she was able to gain more clarity and understanding of her calling and role as a Christian educator in the public school system. We ended our conversation with the words of Paul in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
I know for many of you, this past school year has been one you may want to forget. Some of the calls and issues I have dealt with burdened my soul as well. But, through God’s infinite strength and presence, I believe we will see His light prevailing in the darkness. And I believe each of you will receive the rest that you desire this summer.
So, as this school year comes to a close, I encourage you to take the time this summer to pray and ask God to soothe your weary soul and give you the rest you desire. Keep the words of Isaiah 41:10 close to your heart, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.”
God bless you!
