YOU ARE HIS

But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1, NIV

Another school year is wrapping up. Your classroom might look a little emptier, the bulletin boards are coming down, and the countdown is finally at zero. Whether you feel like you’re limping to the finish line or coasting on a wave of achievement, one thing remains true: You are not defined by this school year.

Not by the test scores.
Not by the lesson plans that fell flat.
Not by the student who soared.
Not by the student who made unbelievable progress.
Not by the student you still worry about.
Not by the compliments from parents or the critiques from the administration.
Not by how celebrated—or overlooked—you may feel right now.

What defines you is this:
You are called.
You are known.
You are seen.
You are loved.
You belong to Him.

God’s not looking for perfect teachers—He’s walking alongside faithful ones. Teachers who show up, who try again, who love even when it’s hard, and who trust Him in the outcomes they can’t control.

Maybe this year didn’t go the way you hoped—that’s okay. God is still writing your story. Or maybe it was your best year yet—that’s a gift—but remember, it doesn’t define you either.

Lord, thank You for walking with me through every moment of this school year—the good, the hard, and the uncertain. Help me rest in the truth that my worth is not in my performance, but in Your presence. Remind me that I am Yours—on my best days and on my worst. As I let go of this year, help me look ahead with peace, trusting You with what’s next. Amen.
