WE ARE NOT PERFECT

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26, ESV

We all have been there—the morning begins wrong and gets progressively worse. Every little thing rubs us the wrong way. Irritation after irritation assails us when finally, the inevitable happens—we lose our cool. Or maybe we just have so much on our plate and the stress pushes us to a breaking point. Whenever we break down or lose our cool, we are regretful. We wonder, Why can’t I keep it together?

We are not perfect; that is why. But we do have a perfect God; a perfect God Who sent His Son to redeem us, so when we lose our cool, we can go to God for forgiveness and renewal. He will give us the strength to try again tomorrow.

I hope the above verse encourages you when you feel like you have lost your cool or failed in some other way. Remember, we have a God Who will stand by us forever and give us what we need to try again.

Dear God, please be with teachers experiencing stress, whether at school, home, or both. I pray they will lean on You for strength to carry them through this season. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
