Prayer: Dear Lord, please show us how to let Your love be obvious in our lives. Thank You. Amen
Scripture: Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love… If we love each other, God lives in us, and His love has been brought to full expression through us. 1 John 4:7,8,12 NLT
Human relationships are where God intends for our love for Him to be demonstrated. When people live for themselves first, seeking their own ways and their own preferences, then they expel the nature of God: His unconditional love that He originally placed within humans.
Our fallen nature has no room for such supreme love of God and of others over ourselves. So God came and continues to be here in and with His children in order to re-establish that created order. He intends to place Himself within you so that He can love others through you. Your response is to permit Him to do it. He takes the wheel of your life and determines the direction it goes after that. And that direction will always take you where His will has ordained for you to go. It will also always take you through the Holy Spirit towards love for others. When our actions and attitudes are less than loving, this may be a sign that we are resisting the direction God’s Spirit wants to take us. But when we permit the fruit of His holiness to live within us and reach others, then we have proof that God has placed Himself to live within us. Short of that, unconditional love is impossible.
I pray your day is filled with opportunities to demonstrate God’s presence within you.
“Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT
