PRAY RIGHT AWAY

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11, KJV

When people ask me to pray for something, I don’t like to rely on my memory to do it later. Instead, I like to pray right then, on the spot.

More often than not, I say “I’ll pray right now,” taking their hand and praying aloud, no matter where we are.

It catches some people off guard, especially those who really didn’t mean what they asked me.

However, I can count on two fingers the number of times people have said, “No, just pray later.”

Many times, long after I have prayed and sometimes forgotten about it, someone will tell me, “Oh! God answered your prayer for me!”

Then they will explain what I prayed for…sometimes I remember, but many times I can’t. But God always remembers.

Please show us, Lord, when to have the courage to pray on the spot. We want to honor You in all our conversations. Amen.

  1. LOVE this! Several years ago I started doing the same… praying with people on the spot. It is so much more meaningful/powerful and they don’t have to wonder whether you really prayed later or not.
