MORE

But as for me, I will wait continually, and will praise You yet more and more. Psalm 71:14, NASB

Christmas time is drawing closer—children are busy making their Christmas lists and dreaming of what they will find under the Christmas tree.

If you could ask for more of something for Christmas, what would it be? More time? More money? More shoes? More sleep?

Since June my prayer has been for MORE. I want to know God more. I want to trust Him more and spend more time talking with Him. I want to tell more people that He loves them more than they can comprehend. I want to love Him more. I want to be more obedient. I want to praise Him more. I want to memorize more Scriptures and give more in ministry. More, more, more!

As in any relationship, if someone you love deeply says, “I want to spend more time with you, get to know you more, hear more of what you want and think,” that would thrill you. It is the same with our Lord. We please Him when we want more of Him and less of ourselves. John the Baptist understood this when he said in John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” The Bible tells us that if we seek His Kingdom and righteousness first, all that we need will be added to us. There is no need to ponder what else I need. God already knows. He is all we really need.

My prayer for you this week is that you will have more of what you need!

Lord, we want to know what is really important. May we be grateful for what we have and use it well to build Your Kingdom. Amen.
