Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105, NIV
How many of us find our minds racing through our to-do lists during the drive to work? I know mine often does. But one morning, taking my usual route, my thoughts shifted when I noticed something I hadn’t before—long stretches of road without streetlights.
This struck me as a powerful metaphor. In the early morning darkness, my headlights faithfully light the way, just as God’s Word and past lessons guide me through uncertain times. I may not be able to see the whole road, but I can trust what’s been revealed to me.
When I drive through areas lit by streetlights, I’m reminded of the body of Christ—fellow believers who walk with us and help illuminate the path during hard seasons. Their presence reminds me that we’re not meant to navigate darkness alone.
Educators, what kind of light do you need today? Are you reflecting on lessons God has already taught you? Are you holding onto His promises to guide your steps? Or do you need to reach out and let others help light the way?
Jesus, I pray that today You will help us to look to You. Help us to hear Your words. Help us to recognize the beauty of Your Word as it lights our paths as we walk with You. Amen.

God’s brought this verse up two times already this morning and it’s only 9AM!
It was in my Bible reading and as I was listening to The Bible Recap for this chapter, she shared something I hadn’t ever heard before:
The Hebrew word for lamp here refers to a foot lamp, a single candle-only enough light for the next step.
The Hebrew word for light here refers to something more like a flood light, “let there be light” light-glorious absolute truth, once and for all.
💡 God’s Word is BOTH kinds of light!
