When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you truly love Me more than these? Yes, Lord,” he said, “You know that I love You.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” John 21:15, NIV
Most days I think, Do I really want this job, Lord? It’s so hard!
The parents expect us to be parents to their children when they can’t even do it themselves! The state wants our students to score high on standardized tests and all the kids want to do is sleep in class and play! I come home from school with profanity ringing in my ears from words in the hallway! And the teacher’s lounge isn’t much better!
I ask, God, why did you put me here? Lord, you said go into all the world! Can’t I go to Europe? Or even Africa? God, any place would be better than this school full of chaos and sin!
But then, I feel Your hand on my shoulder as You say, “Tend My little ones!”
Lord, I know that Your little ones aren’t just the students. They are the parents who are hurting themselves and therefore hurting their children; they are the teachers who haven’t tasted Your goodness.
Yes, Lord. I hear You. For You so loved the students, teachers, and parents of this school that You gave Your only begotten Son…..Yes, Lord. I will stay. Give me the grace, Lord, to bring Your sweetness, Your peace, and Your understanding to my school. Thank You, Lord.
Oh Lord, I pray for Your amazing grace to bring Your presence to my school this day. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
