Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6, NIV
In the busy rhythm of grading papers, guiding young minds, managing challenges, and giving your best day after day, it can feel like you’re always chasing something—time, peace, rest, or even a sense of accomplishment. But Psalm 23:6 reminds us of a powerful truth: We are not the ones doing all the chasing. God’s goodness and love are chasing after us.
The Hebrew word translated as “follow” in this verse means to pursue, chase, or run after. In other words, God’s goodness is actively running after you. He’s not distant. He’s not passive. He’s right behind you, faithfully pursuing you even in the hardest teaching seasons.
And He is not waiting for you to earn His presence—He’s already there. His goodness is woven throughout your day in the smile of a student, the quiet moment between lessons, and even the hardest parts of your day.
Educators, be reminded that God’s goodness and love are chasing after you today, and every day. Let that truth quiet your soul and lift your heart.
Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercy that never leave me. In the midst of my busy and sometimes overwhelming days, help me to see Your hand at work. Remind me that I don’t have to strive for Your love—it’s already mine. Let me teach from a place of rest, knowing You are always with me. Amen.
