BUSY

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42, NKJV

We’re always moving. We’re always running about, doing errands of some kind. Rush. Rush. Rush.

Luke 10 speaks of how busy Martha was, serving and making sure the house was presentable. She was so busy working that she lost sight of His presence. Jesus was in her living room and she was missing what He had to say!

Can you imagine Jesus visiting your home, but you are so busy picking up toys and moving the pile of ungraded papers off the dining room table that you ignore Him? It seems so ridiculous, but it happens. We get so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget about the Creator of life.

Today, I encourage you to be more like Mary, Martha’s sister. Take the time to sit at His feet. Take in everything He has to offer. Welcome Him into your heart and life.

Heavenly Father, please forgive me if I lose sight of the bigger picture of giving You glory at all times. Please don’t allow me to be so busy with work that I forget for whom I’m working.
