ANXIETY

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7, NIV

Today’s verse clearly explains that God does not want us to live in fear. He tells us not to be anxious, to pray about everything, to give thanks, and to let Him know our requests. As a result, His peace will shield our hearts and minds. This is amazing, right?! Let’s take Him at His word and lay aside anxiety in favor of prayers of gratitude and trust in God for peace and protection. He really does do what His Word says!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always keeping me and never leaving me. I need You now more than ever. I take this heavy burden and lay it at Your feet. I know that I cannot handle this in my own strength. Thank you for being faithful and my refuge. I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind, will, and emotions. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.

  1. Thank you for sharing this verse and prayer today! It seems I tend to carry the burden of so many lost souls and become overwhelmed (overtaken) pressed down with grief or anxiety. I have felt the peace of God that passes understanding in the past. I leave this burden at Jesus feet, that I might live daily in that peace (absence of fear/anxiety) ❤️

  2. Thank you so very much for this devotional today. It certainly hit home with me as I was dealing with some emotions that impact at my health after being sent home in May. For allegedly. missgendering a student which I actually didn’t do. This whole situation has impacted my health. I ended up in the hospital for a little over a week. Now I am laying it all down at His feet.Once again thank you so much for your prayer and your encouraging words.
