Don’t Leave Jesus in the Parking Lot
Scripture:
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let our light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
Introduction:
For many years as a Christian educator, I accepted the notion that my faith was to be kept to myself while I was at school. I operated under the assumption that being an educator in a public school was a secular job. As a result, I frequently left Jesus in the car in the morning only to reconnect with Him when I left work at the end of the day. But as I grew in my faith, I came to realize, this was not what Jesus had in mind in Matthew 5 when He said, “You are the light of the world,” and, “let your light so shine before men…”
Over time I began to realize that behind every pair of eyes is an eternal soul cherished by God, and many are living in darkness. But God loves them and has a plan to bring His light into their lives and I understand now that I am part of that plan.

- How do you keep your ear tuned to the Holy Spirit throughout the day so as not to miss the special moments that God provides?
