THE BEAUTY OF TEACHING PRESCHOOL CHILDREN

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6, NIV

There is something truly special about teaching preschool children. Their eyes are full of wonder, their hearts are open, and their curiosity knows no bounds. Each day with them is an adventure, filled with laughter, learning, and little moments that stay with you forever.

As a teacher, I try to bring not just lessons from books, but also lessons from life. I share with them the values I’ve learned over the years—kindness, patience, respect, and the courage to keep trying even when things get hard. I always tell them it’s okay to ask questions. In fact, I encourage it! Because the more they ask, the more they learn. I love watching their minds light up when they discover something new, or when they finally understand a concept after trying again and again.

One of my favorite parts of the day is when we go outside. Whether we’re running, playing games, observing nature, or just enjoying the sunshine, being outdoors gives the children a chance to grow in ways that go beyond the classroom. They learn teamwork, confidence, and the joy of simply being a child.

There is no greater joy than to see your students succeed—not just in school, but in life. When they grow up to be kind, thoughtful, and resilient people, you know that all the stories, hugs, and muddy shoes were worth it.

Teaching preschoolers is not just a job—it’s a calling. And every giggle, every question, and every milestone reminds me that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Dear Lord, Thank You for the gift of each child You have placed in my care. Help me to teach with love, lead with patience, and guide with wisdom. May I always point them toward You, through my words and actions. Let each lesson be filled with joy, and each day be filled with grace. Use me, Lord, to plant seeds that will grow in their hearts for a lifetime. Amen.
