His Perfect Timing

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV

Waiting on the Lord can feel like a test sometimes. Remaining open and ready to receive His answer can take time and requires endurance, patience, and faith. And while our timing may not always match His timing, His response is always perfectly timed.

Christian Educators member Sarah Miller shares a powerful story of patience and God’s perfect timing.

This past year, a group of teachers from our area felt God’s prompting to start meeting every other month to pray for our schools. Even though many of us already had small prayer groups in our buildings, we felt the need to connect on a larger scale to pray for our community. Our group includes K-12 teachers from four different school districts in our county.

For months, one particular group member struggled with discernment concerning some really serious situations happening at her school. And as a new teacher, she felt completely alone. So we prayed for God to send some like-minded teachers from her building that she could agree with in prayer.

As the school year went on, things became more and more bleak in her building. At our January meeting, this lonely, disheartened teacher arrived defeated to share more about the devastating things happening in her building. But then, just as our group sat down to pray, the doorbell rang…it was three teachers from her building! The whole room was filled with awe, followed by cheering, tears of joy, and praise to God. We learned that while all of these teachers had been working together for months, they had not made personal connections about each other’s faith. But God was making connections…in His perfect timing!

Since that meeting, these four teachers have banded together to form a weekly prayer group in their school. They have watched God move and reclaim ground from the enemy in their building. It is such a privilege to see God moving in our group and our schools! To Him be the glory!

Is there someone you made a connection with this year in need of God’s grace, love, and support? Have you had an opportunity to let them see His work within the context of your work in your school? Do you have a testimony to share? If so, please reach out to jcabeen@christianeducators.org.

I am excited to hear your story!
