WORDS

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to surround ourselves with wise counsel, listening to and learning from those who love Jesus above all else. May we grow and change to be like Jesus. Amen

Scripture: “Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.” Proverbs 13:18 NKJV

The teachers’ lounge in most schools can turn into one big gossip ring. Sad, but true, even those of us who call ourselves Christians get caught up in the act. The saddest part of all is that when we do, others who once looked to us for advice and wisdom decide we are no different than anyone else. Good words become tainted with, “But did you know…”

Consider the following wise counsel:

Noah Webster, “We should say nothing of a person in his absence that we should be unwilling to say if he were present.”

Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Psalm 139:4 “There is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, You know it altogether.”
