WITH CHILDLIKE HEARTS

WITH CHILDLIKE HEARTS
December 06, 2022

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, give us childlike hearts and joy to share with those around us. Help us to watch out for special moments to share and enjoy Your fellowship. Amen

Scripture: But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16 NIV

During a busy ministry moment, Jesus took notice of the little children who wanted to come to Him. Children have a powerful message to share with the world. They view the world around them with awe and wonder. Hearing a little giggle or a laugh can bring joy and excitement even to a weary heart. Jesus wanted to share with His disciples that the kingdom of God can be understood by a child. As teachers, we have a beautiful opportunity to inspire this childlike heart. Taking a simple moment to notice those around us can provide an opportunity to share a smile or a laugh.

Continuing to instruct His disciples, Jesus said “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Luke 18:17 NIV). He knew the power and influence children have in the kingdom of God and wanted to make sure everyone else did too. Let us ask the Lord today for childlike hearts and special moments in which to enjoy fellowship with others around us.

A Masterpiece with a Purpose
At the beginning of the school year, if you had asked fifth-grader Elvin who he was, he probably would have given the same answer as everyone else who knew him… “I am the bad kid.”
