ON A MISSION

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9, NKJV

Have you been waiting for a really long time for God to move on your behalf? Have you been trusting Him for a breakthrough in a particular area of your life? I want to encourage you today that whatever God has promised you, He’ll give to you.

God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. And even though there were many years between God’s promise and Isaac’s birth, God kept His promise.

But, what if God tells you to sacrifice that promise after you have received it? Would you be willing to do it?

Even when God told Abraham to climb the mountain and sacrifice Isaac, Abraham held tightly to God’s promise that he would be the father of many nations. Abraham was so focused on being obedient that the angel had to call his name twice.

What has God asked you to sacrifice? Will you hold on to it? Or will you be like Abraham—on a mission to follow God’s instructions? Do you trust God and believe that He will be faithful?

Dear Heavenly Father, You are such a faithful God. I’m grateful for every promise in Your Word. It’s Your promises that give me the strength to keep pushing forward. Thank you for always keeping Your Word. You are my all and I can’t do anything without You. Help me to keep leaning on You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
