KEPT SAFE IN GOD’S PEACE

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O LORD, will keep me safe. Psalm 4:8, NLT

We live in a high-stress world with high-stress pressures and high-stress ambitions swirling around us. We scramble to pay bills and earn money for those special luxury extras and then wonder why we don’t have time to enjoy the things we already have—like our families.

God wants to rearrange this perspective. He wants to offer us a life filled with His peace. His peace won’t leave us stressed out. His peace won’t leave us worrying. His peace won’t tax our energy. His peace, also, will not bore us or take away meaning from life. Just the opposite. His peace makes life more meaningful than anything else we might consider.

When we pray in faith, trust in the Lord, and prepare to receive His will, God’s peace starts flowing into the core of our lives. As long as we seek and exercise the faith God is willing to give us, His peace will calm us and bring limitless joy.

I encourage you to make today a day of rejoicing in God’s peace.

Heavenly Father, please show us what changes we need to make to let You and Your peace into this wonderful day You have made. Amen.

Walking in the Opposite Spirit

  1. Yes! I was definitely inspired to immediately begin to give God thanks and to praise Jehovah Shalom the God of peace. I didn’t go to sleep until about 3:00 or 3:30 this morning I was practicing playing a new instrument and then I begin listening to a sermon on letting the Holy Spirit search our lives for places that the enemy has come in and maybe set up a demonic stronghold in one’s life and so I begin searching my heart prayerfully and so by time I went to bed I’m like oh my God am I going to be able to sleep after such a powerful message and work in me and I had the best 2 hours of sleep and woke up refreshed! I praise God it’s just like the verse that you shared in your devotional from Psalms 4:8.
Also this has been a time as a substitute teacher that I have only gotten one or two jobs a week, but I have God’s peace that he’s got me and that I will not miss paying a bill and have not miss paying a bill as long as I’m doing what he’s calling me to do. Also, thank you for your devotional. God bless you!
