BEING AN EXAMPLE

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, give us a refreshing strength today. Thank You for the hope that we have in You, the Savior of all. Amen

Scripture: That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:10 NIV

1 Timothy 4:10 reminds us that God is living and active in our lives. He knows exactly what we are faced with today. It might be a teacher-parent conference or a meeting that we have been dreading for the last week, but because of the hope we have in God, we can continue to labor for His Kingdom. The next verse says, “Command and teach these things. Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:11-12). This verse is timely because it outlines five ways the believer can set an example. A wise person once challenged me to live like someone is watching. These words of wisdom have carried with me throughout the years.

Through our labor and striving, we are being an example to someone else that our hope can be found in a living God who is the Savior of all.
