Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalms 55:22, NIV
Casting our cares on the Lord is often easier said than done. Our natural tendency is to worry, strive, and try to control every circumstance in our lives. Yet the truth is that we were never meant to carry those burdens alone—and we are never truly in control. God patiently invites us to place every concern into His hands so we can experience the peace that comes from trusting Him.
Being “carefree” doesn’t mean being lazy or indifferent. It means refusing to let worry rule our hearts. We still work diligently, love others well, and faithfully fulfill our responsibilities, but we do so with confidence that God is guiding and sustaining us. Instead of carrying burdens He never intended us to bear, we can leave them with Him.
What burdens are weighing on your heart today? Is it your classroom, your students, a career decision, your family, or something else entirely? Whatever it may be, give it to the Lord. He is faithful to carry what you cannot and to sustain you every step of the way.
We thank You, Lord, for caring for us. May we remember to bring our cares to You and leave them with You. You came to be our Savior, and we are grateful. Amen.
