As most well-prepared, organized teachers do at the beginning of the school year, you probably have your classroom beautifully decorated with a theme you chose over the summer. You have attached the class roster to a clipboard, planned fun icebreakers, and you are set for the day! Or so you thought.

Instead, your morning may be spent confirming and reconfirming afternoon transportation, unpacking supplies, and ensuring routines, procedures, and expectations are set. And that’s perfectly okay. It’s okay when things don’t go as planned. 

Remember, the only plan that matters is God’s plan. Just keep your eyes fixed on Him!

Lord, please help me to stay within Your will and Your plan. Help me to see the difference between my plan and Yours. Please forgive me when I haven’t. I pray that I always willingly surrender to Your plan because it’s for my good. In Jesus ’ name, Amen.
