Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalm 68:19, NIV
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. Psalm 68:19, KJV
Educators carry many kinds of burdens: students with learning challenges, frustrated parents, ever-changing curriculum, deadlines, expectations, and the emotional weight that comes with caring deeply for others. Some days it can feel like the load never stops growing.
But brothers and sisters, we are not meant to shoulder these burdens alone. Scripture reminds us that the Lord Himself daily bears our burdens. Every single day, He lifts what we were never designed to carry by ourselves. What a gift!
I love how the King James Version doesn’t focus on the burdens at all. Instead, it declares that God “daily loadeth us with benefits.” What a beautiful contrast. While we often fixate on the weight, God wants us to notice His provision, strength, and blessings poured out every morning.
As followers of Christ, we have the privilege of casting our burdens onto Him because He cares for us. Why carry unnecessary weight when the Lord of the universe stands ready to lift it? He has already borne the heaviest burdens at the cross. We can release what we’re holding and receive the benefits He freely gives.
Father, thank You for daily bearing my burdens. Today I choose to let You bear my burdens rather than taking them all on myself. I trust You and surrender again to You today. Amen.
