We serve a covenant God who keeps His promises for a thousand generations. He is not only powerful, but consistent, reliable, and deeply invested in the legacy of His people. What a mighty God we serve!
As educators, we are uniquely positioned to take part in this generational work. Every lesson, word of encouragement, and moment of patience is a seed planted in the heart of a student that can bear fruit for decades. In fact, one of the most humbling and awe-inspiring experiences is to teach the children of former students. It’s a living testimony to the enduring influence of teaching. It’s also a reminder that what we do matters far beyond the classroom and far beyond this moment.
But let’s be honest, watching the years pass and generations change can feel daunting. It may even leave you wondering if your efforts are still making a difference or if you have the energy to keep going. Don’t be discouraged. Instead, be inspired that you are serving with the help and blessing of the Lord, who sees your obedience and honors it.
So as you walk into your classroom today, know that you are participating in something far bigger than yourself. You are part of God’s generational work, faithfully sowing seeds that He will bring to harvest in His perfect time.
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness to a thousand generations. Show me how to be faithful in the way that You are faithful. Amen.
