Prayer: Lord, please be with all those who are working with children in our schools today. Guide their thoughts and actions and fill them with love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Scripture: …the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 6:16b

Do you have a “to-do” list close by? Maybe a calendar is your lifeline to keep activities on track. How easy it is for us to forget important things as we rush about in our busy lives!

God knows we can be forgetful, so He told the children to put blue tassels on their clothes as a reminder to keep His commandments. (Numbers 14:38, 39)

One year I moved to a new school and was delighted when I looked at my desk. The previous teacher had taped a card on the corner that read, “Nothing can happen today that the Lord and I can’t handle together. Many times I glanced at those words and was calmed in a frustrating situation.

You probably pray for your students but what about prayer for your co-workers? Why not make a list of their names and keep it in a convenient spot to remind you of their needs, too. Say a quick prayer for them as they face many of the same problems you do – maybe without the Lord’s strength in their lives.
